Let's talk about values. Here is a window into our operating principles & beliefs that guides our decisions, our actions, and how we aspire to be.
This is a living document and very much work in progress.
🤷🏻♂️ We put people over processes
Every team member and project is unique. We are not bound to certain frameworks or rituals. Our processes are fluid and malleable based on what is effective for the individual and the group and constantly iterate on.
🕹 We are remote-first
Some of us might be located in close proximity but we approach everything we do with a remote-first mindset. We favour async communication and optimise for transparency, clarity and availability of information.
🤼♂️ We operate in small, autonomous teams
We strive for small teams that can work independently from each other. Sometimes there is an overlap but we try to keep dependencies low.
🧱 We think from first principles
We start with the underlying fundamentals when making decisions and think through with rigor and logic to make the best decision with the available knowledge.
👩✈️ We take risks
Things will break, ideas will fail. We do not blame anyone for trying something. Rather ask for forgiveness and share learnings than wait for permission.
👋 We are open to everyone
Great ideas come from everywhere. We listen carefully, no matter what background or experience someone has. Be humble.
💪🏻 We have strong opinions, weakly held
We have to make many decisions under uncertainty. We believe that those are the right decisions until proven wrong. And if so we move on quickly.
🧑🏽🏫 We help each other grow
We are voracious learners and teachers. We spend time sharing knowledge and helping each other. Even if it slows us down temporarily.
⛹🏻♀️ We build the product together
Teams build great products: we have our roles to play and we are all responsible for solving problems for our customers and users. Not-my-job attitudes are not welcomed here.
🏁 We stop starting, start finishing
We have limits on tasks in progress. We focus our efforts on the work items closest to completion before starting something new.
